Use this exact HTTPS address. Authentication happens through MyTravelBuddy OAuth — never paste a static access token.

Before you start

What you need

  • A MyTravelBuddy account with at least one trip you can access.
  • Claude on the web or desktop with custom connector support.
  • No MyTravelBuddy Client ID is needed — Claude registers automatically through OAuth.

Setup guide

Connect in 3 steps

  1. 01

    Add a custom connector

    Claude only needs the connector name and MyTravelBuddy MCP URL.

    • Open Claude → Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.
    • Name it MyTravelBuddy and enter https://mcp.mytravelbuddy.ai.
    • Leave Advanced settings empty so Claude can register automatically, then save.
  2. 02

    Connect and authorize your buddy

    Approve the trip permissions Claude needs through MyTravelBuddy.

    • Open the MyTravelBuddy connector in Claude and click Connect.
    • Sign in to MyTravelBuddy, review the consent screen, and approve access.
    • Return to Claude and confirm the connector is available.
  3. 03

    Turn analysis into a real plan

    Ask Claude to inspect authorized trip context, compare options, and update your buddy only after you choose.

    • Ask Claude to load your latest trip or name the trip you want to work on.
    • Compare routes, timing, documents, or alternatives in the conversation.
    • Tell Claude exactly what your buddy should add or change, and review the proposed tool call.

Troubleshooting

Common questions

The connector fails to add

Confirm you entered the HTTPS MCP URL exactly and left Advanced settings empty. Your Claude plan or workspace must support custom connectors.

Claude asks for a trip ID

Ask Claude to use MyTravelBuddy to list your trips or load your latest trip first. The connector returns identifiers needed for later tool calls.

How do I disconnect Claude?

Remove the connector in Claude and revoke its grant from MyTravelBuddy Settings → Authorized Apps.
